About D' Tandoor

The history of D’Tandoor can be traced back to 1984, founded by Datuk Abdul Malik Abdullah in Malaysia. D’ Tandoor, originally specialised in Indian and Pakistani cuisines, later developed to a Malaysian delights. In 1990, the first restaurant in Australia was opened in Sydney, followed by few in Perth. D’ Tandoor South Perth, was opened in 2008 by chef Arokiaraj Savarimuthu.

Currently, Mr Arokiaraj Savarimuthu, is the franchisee and the chef for this branch. Mr Arokiaraj was trained in D'Tandoor Restaurant in Malaysia before been posted to Perth. He has a hotel management.

D’Tandoor group of restaurant are well recognised as it has 18 branches worldwide and still growing strong. Australian Times had voted us as the Best North Indian Restaurant in Perth. Other than that, Malaysia Franchise Association (MFA) awarded us as the Most Promising Franchisor in 2005. In 2005 Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC) awarded Mr. Abdul Malik as the Entrepreneur of the Year in2005, for our contribution in fastening the relationship between Australia and Malaysia. In 2009/2010 we awarded the "Best Malaysian Indian Restaurant in Malaysia, by Malaysia Tourism Awards from the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia in the year 2009/2010 presented by Dato Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen.
